High Rush in a rush as she wins at Scone!

Apr 17, 2019

Consistent mare High Rush (High Chaparral x Rushing Wind) kicked off her new preparation in style with a barrier to box victory first up at Scone over 1300m, on Monday 8th April.

Superbly rated in front by jockey Samantha Clenton, High Rush jumped from the barriers well to lead and kept her spot throughout the race, kicking 2.5 lengths in front on the turn to win eased up by 0.68L from the fast finishing In Good Health. It was fitting for Samantha to ride her to win as she has had a lot to do with the mare, breaking her in and riding her in training since she was yearling.

It was another terrific training effort from our trainer Jason Deamer, who had her fit and ready to win first up, and despite her previous very good first up form (2:1-1-0) she was fairly friendless in the betting with some connections getting $20+ before scratchings.

The win brings her career stats to 11:3-2-0 and it holds her in good stead for the rest of her preparation, considering she won up to 1750m last time in.

The mare continues to do well for her connections, and hopefully there are more wins in store. The Scone Inglis Sale graduate was a $7000 purchase from the draft of Ambergate Farm at the 2016 sale. She has a strong breeding page with her mum Rushing Wind being a half sister to a Group 1 and 2 winner in France in Special Quest and also Moiava a Group 2 winner and champion 2yo in France.

Congratulations to her connections!!
